Willy Wiedmann summarized the next three books of the Bible into one. The first book deals with the people of Israel overtaking Canaan – led by Joshua. The paintings portray the battles between Israelites and Canaanites, who were driven out of the land because of their pagan beliefs. All but a few. They were promised a share of the land because some tribes of Israel failed to secure their portion of the inheritance. The book of Judges describes the time after Joshua, and how people began to stray further and further from their beliefs and their Lord. The paintings show their various sins, but also show how God forgave the people. In the last book the focus is on Ruth, who turns her back on her people and commits herself to God. Ruth becomes the wife of Boaz and thus the mother of the line of King David.
