Because Jericho was shut up and barricaded against Israel so no one could come in, the Lord said to Joshua, “All the men of war shall march around wall of the city for six days. And let seven priests carry seven trumpets before the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times and let the priests blow the trumpets, and when they make a long blast, all the army shall shout with a great war cry. Then the city wall will fall down and you can go up. This city and all that is in it shall be devoted to the Lord for destruction. But keep yourselves from the thing devoted to destruction and do not covet them.
Joshua conquered the city and destroyed all the men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys in it with the sword
But Joshua told the two spies to bring out Rahab with her family and everything she had and all who were in her house. Then they burned the city. Before they did, they brought all the gold, silver, copper and iron tools into the house of Lord.
Joshua also made an oath that whoever rebuilds Jericho would be cursed by the Lord.
