In the thirty-seventh year after Jehoiachin king of Judah was carried away, on the twenty-seventh day of the twelfth month, Evil Merodach king of Babylon released Jehoiachin from prison in the first year of his reign, and spoke kindly to him and set his throne above the throne of the kings who were with him in Babylon. Jehoiachin changed his prison garments and he ate every day with the king all the days of his life. There was a continual allowance given him from the king all the days of his life.
