Hallelujah! It is good to sing praises to our God,
and it is pleasant to praise him. The Lord builds up
Jerusalem again. He heals the broken in heart,
and binds up their painful wounds. He counts
the number of the stars. He calls them all by their names.
His understanding is infinite. Sing praises
to our Lord on the harp. He covers the heavens with Clouds,
prepares rain, makes grass grow on the mountains.
He provides food for the livestock: for the young ravens,
when they call. He does not delight in the strength of the horse;
he takes no pleasure in the legs of a man.
The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him,
and who honor and hope in his loving kindness.
God's goodness to Israel
Jerusalem, praise the Lord,
and praise your God on Zion.
He has strengthened the bars of your gates,
and blessed your children within you.
He makes peace in your borders. He fills you
with the finest wheat. He sends his commandments to earth,
gives snow like wool, and scatters frost
before his cold freezes the water.
He sends out his words, and melts them;
he causes his wind to blow, and the waters flow.
He shows his word to Jacob, his statutes and ordinances
as to no other nation.
