He selected Aaron, the brother of Moses, from the tribe of Levi as he had his brother,
and made an everlasting covenant with him. He gave him the priesthood
of his people and clothed him beautifully. He put a glorious robe on him
and exalted jewelry, pomegranates, and golden bells so that the ringing was heard in the sanctuary when he went out
and when he went in. There were holy garments, covered in gold, blue, and purple.
He had the bag for the Urim and Thummim artfully made of scarlet threads, the stones engraved with the 12 tribes of Israel
that they might be remembered. There was a golden signet on a headband, made holy to the Lord, and it was all perfectly made. Never had such beautiful things been seen before. No one else was ever allowed to put them on, but only his sons and his offspring.
Moses filled his hands and anointed him with holy oil.
An eternal covenant was consecrated with him and his sons to serve God and be priests.
The Lord selected him from all he living, that he might offer him burnt offerings and offerings of incense for a memorial.
He gave him and his scholars the authority over the law and his covenants so that he might teach Jacob the testimonies and enlighten Israel in his law.
