A psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. Have mercy on me, God, according to your loving kindness. According to your mercies, blot out my transgressions. Wash my iniquity from me; cleanse me from my sin. I have done that which displeases you. I was born in iniquity – in sin, my mother conceived me. You teach me wisdom in the inmost place. Purify me with hyssop, and I will be clean. Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones rejoice. Create in me a clean heart, oh God, and a right spirit. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed. Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall declare your praise. Do well in your good pleasure to Zion; build again the walls of Jerusalem.
