The name of Josiah is like noble incense from the apothecary. It as sweet as honey, or as music while drinking wine. He converted the people and removed the abomination of idolatry. He set his heart on the Lord, and restored right worship. All of the kings except for David, Hezekiah, and Josiah are guilty because they were unfaithful to the Lord. And then the kings of Judah failed, for they had to give up their kingdoms to others. They burned the chosen city of the sanctuary and made the streets desolate, as Jeremiah had prophesied. They mistreated him terribly, but he was sanctified to root out, afflict, destroy, and break, and then build and plant again.
