God of my praise, don't remain silent.
A wicked, deceitful mouth
has opened up against me.
They have spoken to me
with a lying tongue,
and full of hate,
have fought me,
have made me an enemy,
and have rewarded me evil for good,
and hatred for my love.
Let their wickedness be against them.
Adversary – Judgment.
Let his prayer be turned into sin.
Let his days be few,
and let another take his office.
Let his children and wife
be without a father and husband.
Let his children be wandering beggars.
Let his creditor seize all he has.
Let strangers plunder the fruits of his labor.
Let there be no one to extend kindness to him.
Let his posterity be cut off,
and his name be blotted out.
Let the Lord remember the iniquities of his fathers,
the sins of his mothers,
for this man never showed any kindness.
He persecuted the poor and needy man,
and killed the broken in heart.
Yes, he loved cursing,
and it came to him.
Blessings were far from him.
Cursing came into his inward parts like water,
and oil into his bones.
It was like clothing for him.
This is the reward, Lord,
for those who speak evil against me
and are my adversaries.
Lord and master, deal with me;
pull me out of it,
for I am poor and needy,
and my heart is trembling in my breast.
I am nothing but a fading shadow,
and my knees are weak through fasting.
Those who see me shake their heads and reproach me.
Help me, Lord, my God,
save me in your loving kindness,
so that they may know you have done it.
You will bless me,
and my enemies will fail.
I am your servant,
and I will rejoice.
Let my opponents be clothed with dishonor like a robe.
I will praise the Lord with a loud voice,
and praise him among the multitude,
for he will stand at the right hand of the needy
to save them from false judges.
