A slothful man is compared to a stone that is defiled, or a dunghill. An uninstructed son is a shame to his father, and if the daughter is foolish, it will bring grief. If she were prudent, she would get a husband. But if she is bold, she will bring shame on both her father and her husband, and will be despised by them both. A saying at the wrong time is like joyful music when someone is mourning, but strict correction is good and wise at any time.
