And Bathsheba went in and said all of this, and Nathan told the king about Adonijah’s celebrations and festivals. And David said, “It shall be as I have sworn.” They called for Zadok, Nathan, Benaiah. When they came, the king said, “Take with you the servants of your lord, and set my son Solomon on my own mule, and bring him down to Gihon. Let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him there as king and blow the trumpet. Then come back again, and he shall sit on my throne.” Benaiah answered, “So be it!” And Zadok the priest took the horn of oil from the tent and anointed Solomon. And they blew the trumpets and all the people shouted, “Long live king Solomon.” The people blew the flutes and rejoiced with great joy.
