Throughout his career he worked with many famous artists such as Louis Armstrong, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, etc. Wiedmann won several awards, including the “Cross of the Order of Merit” for Art and Culture. The World’s Longest Painted Bible
For decades the world’s longest painted Bible was hidden in an archive. A mission brought it back to light: „The Wiedmann Bible“. Willy Wiedmann worked for 16 years on 3,333 hand-painted illustrations in his own unique Polycon style, which he combined in a single Leporello - the only one of its kind. He believed, a picture is worth a thousand words. For this reason he was passionate about his ecclesiastical paintings. His intention was to create something entirely new - something unprecedented. Willy Wiedmann did not only want to reflect the Holy Scriptures, but also include messages about what humans have done to the world. Additionally, Willy Wiedmann wished to have a global impact by making it accessible to all, including those who are unable to read. What is intriguing about this Bible is that it does not follow any stereotypes or regulations.
